Supply chains are complex, dynamic systems involving multiple organizations with competing priorities, constantly shaped by external forces, market disruptions, and evolving global trends. This course equips you with frameworks to navigate this challenges, such as System Dynamics, a methodology developed at MIT to model and analyze complex, non-linear, and dynamic systems.

Through case studies, simulations, and real-world applications, you’ll master critical competencies: understanding supply chain complexity and interdependencies, managing international supply chain operations, applying system dynamics modelling, conducting strategy and process analysis, and building risk mitigation and resilience strategies. By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to anticipate disruptions, model complex trade-offs, and design supply chains that thrive in uncertain environments.

Supply Chain Dynamics is an instructor-paced course. Course content is released on a weekly basis, and a comprehensive syllabus, deadlines, and requirements are provided in Week 0 of the course.

In order to qualify for the MITx MicroMasters Credential in Supply Chain Management you need to earn a Verified Certificate in all of the required courses. When you register for a Verified Certificate you will also be granted access to additional practice problems, supplemental readings, and opportunities for increased interaction with the faculty and teaching staff.
